Wallbox charger installation cost in Ireland

A Wallbox home charger costs €1,049 to €1,099 installed in Ireland, depending on the model, or €749 to €799 after the €300 SEAI grant. Wallbox is a Spanish manufacturer. The Pulsar range is one of the most compact wall units on the Irish market and is sold both untethered and in 22 kW versions.

How Wallbox compares

Across the home chargers people buy in Ireland, a typical installed price is €1,249. The lowest-priced Wallbox, at €1,049, is below that median.

If price is the deciding factor, these installed prices come in under the lowest-priced Wallbox: Zappi Eco at €899; EO Mini Pro 3 at €929.

The full table of every charger, every installer quote and every extra is on our EV charger installation cost page. Other brands: Zappi · Ohme · EO. The 22 kW Pulsar needs a three-phase supply: see 3-phase chargers.

Cable run beyond the standard length€50–€400
Trenching, grass or soft ground€200–€300

Tethered instead of untethered€50–€200
Structural or building work€200–€500

The €300 grant on a Wallbox

The SEAI home charger grant is €300. You pay the installer, then SEAI pays you once the paperwork is in. Two conditions matter for a Wallbox specifically: the exact model must be on SEAI’s Smart Charger Register, and the work must be done by a Safe Electric registered contractor.

Do not skip this

Do not let anyone start work before the start date on your Letter of Offer. If the work starts first, the grant is gone and there is no appeal. Our grant check takes about forty seconds.

Questions about Wallbox chargers

How much does a Wallbox charger cost to install in Ireland?

installed prices for Wallbox chargers in Ireland run from €1,049 to €1,099 depending on the model, or €749 to €799 after the €300 SEAI grant. That covers the charger and a standard installation; extras such as a fuse board upgrade or a long cable run are on top.

Does the SEAI grant cover a Wallbox charger?

The €300 SEAI home charger grant needs the charger model to be on SEAI's Smart Charger Register and the work done by a Safe Electric registered contractor. Check the exact Wallbox model against the register before you pay a deposit, and do not let work start before the date on your Letter of Offer.

Is Wallbox cheaper or dearer than other chargers?

The lowest-priced Wallbox, at €1,049, is below the typical €1,249. The lowest-priced charger overall was the Zappi Eco at €899.

Why is my quote higher than the typical price?

Typical prices assume a standard install: a modern fuse board with a spare way, a short cable run and a wall that takes the unit. Older fuse boards, meter tails, trenching or a demand management device all add to the bill, and each is listed with its usual cost on this page.
